A new book from the author of Foods That Lie

My first book, Foods That Lie, presents the evidence that intermittent reinforcement in the food supply drives overeating. I am now writing a shorter, general-audience version of these ideas, offering a complete, very practical escape process for stopping binge eating junk food for good. This is an extension of the first book, and provides a more concise and direct escape route, helping to illustrate how understanding flavor changes everything.

The new book communicates the same ideas presented in Foods That Lie, but in a simpler and more accessible way, hammering home the message with laser precision, adopting Allen Carr-style logic, and illustrating how straightforward, unrestrictive, enjoyable, and freeing flavor-honest eating is.

Like Foods That Lie, the new book outlines the role of flavor in food addiction and offers a simple way to reduce the intake of ultra-processed foods and permanently stop binge eating. It achieves this via a change in mindset that – once the core idea is understood – makes transforming eating behavior suddenly feel exciting and fun.
